I heard about this place from a coworker several months ago and I happened to be in the area so we tried it. "LA's Best Burrito" Well, if it's not the best, it's a DAMN close second!! The La Azteca burrito is delicious. If you're a carnivore like me, it doesn't matter what meat you add since they're all delicious.
My go to is the La Azteca with carnitas. I've had their al pastor, the chile colorado and the carne asada versions as well. Again, they're all quite delicious!
Today, I opted to try the tacos. I ordered 1 asada and 1 carnitas. She asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. I asked which she recommended, and she said she normally gets corn. WOWWWWWWWWWW!! Their tortillas are a little thicker than most places. This gave them a sort of al dente pasta bite to them and added delicious corn flavor to the tacos. There was a lot of filling and just the two tacos filled me up.
I would suggest going in before the noon lunch rush. Although it doesn't take more than 6-8 people to do it, the line will certainly be out the door. That, or phone your order in so that it's ready for pickup when you get there!
The Chile relleno burrito with asada w really lived up to the hype. Great combination of flavors. I highly recommend it!
Tasty and to the point. They do burritos incredibly well. Staff have always been cool and kind. I like seeing all of their awards and the mural on the inside of the place.
I grew up in the Boyle Heights and Lincoln Heights area and haven't been to this area in a long time. During a recent trip to East La I decided to try this place. I was pleasantly surprised with the tortillas that they use for their burritos.
I tried the chile relleno burrito with no meat and it's a pretty decent burrito. I don't think my burrito had rice in it but personally I can't eat rice that much anymore so I'm good with the no rice in my burritos.
I will have to come back and try their meat burritos.
The food is always fresh and delicious. One of the best places to have a chorizo and egg breakfast burrito or try their famous Chile Relleno and asada burrito. For faster service call ahead, since this place is always busy with hungry people.
